Executive Leaders from The De Curci Trust actively engaged with national education leaders at the CST Annual Conference last week. Chief Executive Officer, Sara Spivey and Chief Financial & Operating Officer (CFOO), Nathan Waites participated in strategic dialogues centered on future sector growth and connection.
A key highlight involved CFOO Nathan Waites co-leading the workshop "Access Education: Connected by design – Building the joined-up trust." Drawing on his eight years of operational expertise, he demonstrated how integrated accounting and management software eliminates administrative silos, improves financial visibility, and allows school groups to scale efficiently.

The event featured vital insights from national figures shaping the educational landscape, including Sir Martyn Oliver (HM Chief Inspector, Ofsted) on upcoming trust-level inspections, The Rt Hon Lucy Powell MP on government priorities, and Dr Hilary Cottam OBE on strengthening place-based relationships.

Reflecting on the sessions, The De Curci Trust's CEO, Sara Spivey shared: "Daniel Susskind's remarks on the importance of teaching children key skills in an era of AI, and moving towards a curriculum where we 'teach both, assess both' - i.e. what students can do with and without AI - were particularly thought provoking."

By participating in these national debates, the leadership team brings valuable knowledge, forward-thinking strategies, and operational best practices directly back to the classrooms and school environments across the trust.
