Leaders Drive School Improvement

Education leaders from the southeast region met today at Solent Junior School for this term's meeting of the 'Ambition South' Challenge Partners Hub.

The meeting welcomed esteemed colleagues including Tim Webber, Headteacher of Testwood School, and Dame Sue John, Executive Director of Challenge Partners, to discuss the Hub’s strategic action plan and other Challenge Partners updates.

A key agenda item was the planned implementation of the Middle Leadership Quality Assurance Review (MLQAR). This initiative is designed to develop robust observation practices, empowering middle leaders to drive quality teaching within their departments.

Looking ahead, the Hub announced a forthcoming expert webinar dedicated to developing literacy. This session will provide staff across the Hub with evidence-based strategies to improve reading and writing standards - a critical factor in closing the attainment gap for disadvantaged pupils.

Hub Senior Partner, Sara Spivey, stated "Thank you to everyone who contributed to this positive meeting.  We look forward to sharing and implementing our updated action plan with all colleagues and schools within our Hub".
